About NoCode Guide

Rick, independent operator behind NoCode Guide automation tutorials

Hi, I'm Rick. I run NoCode Guide, an independent tutorial site about n8n and no-code workflow automation.

I build and operate a small network of .guide content sites on this exact stack: React, PocketBase, and self-hosted infrastructure on a VPS. That means I'm not writing about automation from the outside: I run these workflows in production every day, self-host my own n8n instances, and pay the same VPS and API bills I write about here.

Everything on this site is tested before it's published. When a tutorial says "run this Docker Compose file," I've run it. When a comparison quotes a price, I've checked it against the provider's live pricing. Every page carries a "last verified" date so you know how current it is, and I update the money pages, VPS installs, pricing, and the calculator, whenever plans change.

Why trust an independent site over official docs? Because I optimise for the decision you're actually trying to make (Cloud or self-hosted, n8n or Zapier, which VPS size), not for selling you a plan. I do use affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure), but recommendations never change based on commissions.

Why this site exists

Most writing about n8n falls into one of two piles. Either it is the vendor's own documentation, which is accurate but tells you nothing about whether the tool suits you, or it is affiliate content written by someone who has never run the thing in production and is repeating a press release. The gap in the middle is where this site sits: tested setups, real prices with the date attached, and a clear answer when the plain answer is "use something else".

How pages here are researched

Every price, plan limit and version number on this site is checked against the vendor's own page before it is published, and the date of that check is printed on the page. That matters more than it sounds. Automation pricing changes often and quietly: n8n removed its active-workflow caps entirely during 2026, and Make switched its billing unit from operations to credits. Articles that were correct when written become wrong without anyone editing a word, which is why a verification date is worth more to you than a confident tone.

Where a figure cannot be verified from the vendor, this site says so rather than filling the gap with a plausible number. Zapier, for example, publishes no price for its higher task tiers, so you will not find an invented one here. Where a claim is our opinion rather than a documented fact, it is written as an opinion.

How this site makes money

Some links here are affiliate links, which means a purchase made through them may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That arrangement never decides what gets recommended. The cost calculator on this site regularly concludes that the free self-hosted Community Edition is the right answer, which earns nothing, and the comparison pages name cases where a competitor is the better fit. If a recommendation only made sense with the commission attached, it would not be worth your trust or our time. Full details are on the affiliate disclosure page.

Display advertising also runs on the informational pages. The pages where you are weighing a purchase decision are kept free of it.

Who writes it

The site is written and maintained by Rick Kennerknecht, who runs it alongside a small group of other independent guide sites under Grand Valley Domains, LLC. Everything here is tested on real n8n instances before it is published. Where a page describes a setup, that setup has been run; where it quotes a price, that price was checked on the vendor's page on the date shown.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, out of date, or no longer matches what the vendor publishes, say so and it gets fixed. Prices move, plan limits change, and major versions break things that used to work. A correction is useful, not an annoyance. The contact page is the fastest route, and corrections are applied to the page along with a fresh verification date rather than quietly patched.

This is an independent site. It is not affiliated with n8n GmbH, and nothing here is reviewed or approved by them.
